Hydroxycut Claims Lawyers

On May 1, 2009, Iovate Health Science, Inc. announced a voluntary recall of 14 Hydroxycut products. The popular diet, energy enhancing, and fat burning supplements were recalled after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) received 23 reports of serious liver injuries sustained by consumers of these products.
The following products are included on the recall:

- Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Rapid Release Caplets
- Hydroxycut Hardcore Liquid Caplets
- Hydroxycut Max Liquid Caplets
- Hydroxycut Regular Drink Packets
- Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Drink Packets
- Hydroxycut Hardcore Drink Packets (Ignition Stix)
- Hydroxycut Max Drink Packets
- Hydroxycut Liquid Shots
- Hydroxycut Hardcore RTDs (Ready-to-Drink)
- Hydroxycut Max Aqua Shed
- Hydroxycut 24
- Hydroxycut Carb Control
- Hydroxycut Natural
Hydroxycut Cleanse and Hoodia products were not affected by the recall.
Problems with Hydroxycut
Consumers taking Hydroxycut products have suffered serious liver injuries from the use of these products. Health problems associated with Hydroxycut include:
- Jaundice
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Liver damage
- Liver failure requiring a liver transplant
- Seizures
- Cardiovascular disorders
One 19-year-old has also died from liver failure after taking Hydroxycut. While the liver injuries caused by the product have been rare, the incidents were reported by people taking the recommended dosages on the bottle.
The FDA has warned consumers to stop using these products immediately in order to prevent the risk of developing one of these serious disorders.
